We are hiring a Spin-Out Manager at UCC Innovation
UCC Innovation is part of the Office of the Vice President for Research Support & Innovation (OVPRI) in UCC.
UCC Innovation has a strong track record of intellectual property protection, commercialisation and technology transfer capability. It creates around 5 spin-out companies annually as well as on average 10 start-up companies. It also secures around 30 technology licence deals or similar with industry each year.
The Spin Out Manager will help academic founders to identify, shape and appropriately structure spin-out or spin-in opportunities based around emerging and innovative UCC technology from within the University Research base. The role will provide leadership, energy and drive to UCC activities in relation to the creation of new companies on campus and also support our partner institutions across the Bridge Network Technology Transfer Consortium (Teagasc, Cork Institute of Technology, and Institute of Technology, Tralee) to advance spinout company establishment.
The Spinout Manager will be responsible for maintaining the flow of high quality sustainable spinouts and will be the key interface for interactions with academic entrepreneurs, TTO Case Managers, Accelerator and Entrepreneurship Programmes Enterprise Agencies, Commercial Champions, Angel and VC investors and other parties supporting new business creation, growth and impact. The Spinout manager will also provide lifetime engagement with UCCs portfolio of spinout companies, developing strong relations to support their growth
The role will be a key player within the BRIDGE Network and UCC’s Entrepreneurship Implementation Group
