Ryan Tubridy Visits UCC's new Hub
On February 10, in the Atrium of UCC's new Hub, Ryan Tubridy was interviewed by 2nd Year Arts student Matthew Moynihan before engaging in dialogue with the large crowd of students who gathered for the event.
The Atrium is a capacious multi purpose event space making up the majority of the ground floor. Full of natural light, with a double high ceiling, it proved a fitting venue for Mr Tubridy's engagement with the UCC student body.
A building first appeared on the site of the new Hub in 1850 when Lord Clarendon made a donation for a new medical facility. Since then, the building has undergone many renovations, additions and guises. In 2016, work began on the new Hub, with award winning architects O'Donnell-Tuomey melding the historical significance of the original building with modern design elements to create an amazing building for generations of UCC staff and students.
The opening of the Hub helps deliver a key goal in UCC's 2017-2022 Strategic Plan by supporting the creation of a student-centred administrative, academic and extracurricular experience.
Visit The Hub for an exploration of everything this exciting addition to the UCC campus has to offer.
