Final year BMus student with a first class honours BA in Music and Irish

Conor Arkins comes from Ruan in North Clare. He is a multi-instrumentalist and plays piano, fiddle, flute and saxophone. He is a final year BMus student at University College Cork who has been awarded a first class honours BA in Music and Irish.

Why did you choose UCC?

I chose UCC for the diverse Music program.
The Quercus scholarship has meant so much to me during my time here, the constant support from the team is amazing. I have had the opportunity to perform at various high profile events around campus.

What advice would you give to your leaving cert self?

If I was to give advice to my leaving cert self it would be to chose UCC it’s the best place to be!

What would you like to do when you leave UCC?

When I leave UCC I would like to keep teaching and playing music.
