Event Overview

UCC will host a Parent/Guardian Information Evening on Thursday 16 January from 6-8pm. As a parent you want to make sure your daughter or son has all the information they need to make the right choice for their future. To help you feel assured that your child will be best prepared for this exciting new chapter, we aim to provide answers to some of the questions that might be on your mind. The event will take place in the Boole Library Creative Zone, Main Campus, UCC. No need to register, just come along on the night. The event will give you the opportunity to:

  • Find out more about student life
  • Take a Campus Tour
  • Speak to admission staff about the CAO Application process
  • Find out more on how better to support students in their journey to University Life
  • Meet staff from the four Colleges: Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences, Business and Law, Science, Engineering and Food Science and Medicine and Health and from student support services
  • Find out more about Finance and Grants
  • Check out information on the Quercus Talented Students' Programme Scholarships
  • Learn about careers for Graduates

Students, parents and teachers are all welcome to attend the Information Evening.  

Event Schedule

The evening will progress as follows:

  • 5.30pm: Optional short campus tour
  • 5.45pm: Tea/Coffee and refreshments will be served
  • 6.00pm: Welcome talk to include information on student life, cao application process, etc -Lenka Forrest, Head of Student Recruitment
  • 6.15pm: How better to support students in their journey to University Life - Dr. Eithne Hunt, School of Occupational Therapy
  • 6.30pm  Finance and Grants - Cian Power, Student Budgetary Advisor
  • 6.45pm: Careers for Graduates - Brenda Nestor, Careers Advisor
  • 7.00pm: Opportunity to visit Information Stands and speak with staff
  • 8.00pm: Event Finishes
