PAC User Guide

The Postgraduate Applications Centre (PAC) is the online application portal that UCC uses to process applications for our taught postgraduate courses. Almost all of our UCC courses are processed through PAC. Prospective applicants create an account and log in here to make an application to UCC.

PAC login

UCC staff use the staff login portal to access applications.

How to get your PAC login

To gain initial access to PAC, please complete the following PAC Authorisation Form and return it to the relevant GSO staff member who processes the applications for the course(s) data you are seeking access to. Staff contact details available here. You login with your central UCC login details.

PAC User Guide

Here is our PAC manual, please take the time to read through this carefully and become familar with the system as you will be using it often as a Programme Coordinator.

PAC ratings

The GSO and IO offices use PAC ratings to update applicants’ online PAC application status and the ratings are categorised by their first 3 digits from 111 (initial application or cancellation to 999 indicating applications with final decisions). If you are unsure what a rating means, just click on the rating and an explanation will pop up.
111000 – This is the automatic acknowledgment an applicant receives when they make an online application. This rating indicates that the application has not yet been viewed or processed by the Graduate Studies office/International Office and is not yet ready for assessment by the programme coordinator.
333xxx – If the applicant is missing documentation (usually degree evidence or evidence of an English language qualification) this rating indicates the application is on hold pending the submission of further documentation. The application is not yet ready for assessment.
444001/444004 – The applicant has submitted the required documentation and at this stage you, as programme coordinator will receive an email notification that an application is complete and ready for review. Some applicants may still be missing their English language exam at this stage but we would still send this on for review as a conditional offer can be made pending receipt of the required English language exam.
999xxx – This indicates that you, as programme coordinator, have made a decision (which may be an offer, refusal, offer conditional on final results, place on waitlist)

Programme Coordinators will use PAC to generate reports and lists. The main lists you will be looking for are:

  • Active Ratings – This is your entire list of active applicants (new applicants, offered applicants, applicants on waiting lists etc.) and will exclude any cancelations, refusals and expired applications etc.
  • Net acceptances – This is your list of applicants who have accepted a full offer.
  • Conditional pending – This is your list of applicants who have a conditional offer pending the submission of an exam result or English language requirement etc.
  • Waiting list – This is your list of applicants on your waiting list, including full and conditional.
