The Online Classroom

The Online Classroom

Some things you should know about your online class:

There is no set time for you to access the class - log into the class when it is convenient for you. However, you should enter your class on the first day of classes in order to begin work. Most instructors begin their online class on the first day, so it is important to get a start to avoid falling behind.  Once you access your class, carefully read any announcements, the class syllabus, and other pertinent information your instructor has provided. In many cases there are immediate due dates so be sure to pay special attention to this material.  Most of the online classes are not self-paced - students progress through the class as a group, so be prepared to work with your fellow class members.

If you should need technical assistance with the Blackboard system during the course of your online class, please contact the Learning Technologies Unit by e-mail at ltu@ucc.ie

Additional resources and information for online students can be found at www.ucc.ie/online. Here you will find a bank of FAQs and information for first-time online students and first-time online blended students.

You should also note that orientations are scheduled for various days, so if you are a first time online student please check the postgraduate prospectus page for orientation details.
