Alpa Agrawal Story

Alpa Agrawal was awarded an MSc Innovation, Commercialisation and Entrepreneurship in 2014 from UCC. Her company, Allmin Resources Ireland Ltd was named Bank of Ireland/ IGNITE Business of the Year in 2016.

Sourcing high-quality raw materials at the right price is the biggest problem facing large multinational companies today. Asia is the manufacturing hub of the world and produces these chemicals, but due to cultural and language barriers, it is sometimes difficult for buyers to procure the right product at the right price, and handle the logistics to get the product delivered to them efficiently. Alpa Agrawal combined her chemical engineering expertise and her business acumen to found the highly-successful manufacture and export company, Allmin Resources Ireland Ltd.

"I am the third generation of chemical engineers in my family. My Masters from UCC consolidated generations of experience gained from working in my family's business in India with my own entrepreneurial ideas.

The result is a company that provides a complete procurement solution for businesses looking to source industrial chemicals for the fertilizer; pharmaceuticals; detergent and construction industries.

We're based in Ireland, which plays to the company's strategy of aligning suppliers and buyers. Ireland is a hub location for Europe and the world, which helps us provide the best service to our customers.

The key value proposition for our customers is the fact that the majority of our products are manufactured by our sister company, based in India. The company have manufacturing magnesium-related compounds since 1975. Thanks to our unique business model we can supply our customers with high quality products and from a reliable source, which gives them a sustainable competitive advantage in the market.

I started our business two years ago with one product in the portfolio. Today, we offer over 20 products that we have developed in response to the market's needs. We currently export to customers from the US, Middle East, South East Asia and parts of Europe including Italy and Bulgaria."
