Updates from Head of Department

Dear Students in the Department of Sociology and Criminology

You will have all read the President’s update about plans for next semester, emailed to you on Tuesday 1st December, informing us that next semester will operate in a similar way to Semester 1.

It remains essential if we are to stem the rise in those seriously impacted by the Covid-19 virus that we follow government /university guidance https://www.ucc.ie/en/emt/covid19/

We ask that you continue to limit your social contacts in line with government guidance and follow public health measures.

We in the department of Sociology and Criminology will continue to play our part. There will be no face to face teaching (including tutorials, supervisions and meetings) and all teaching  will be available online next semester.

The staff in the department are committed to supporting you and have worked hard to provide the very best teaching and learning experience in conversation and collaboration with you all,  through the student representative system. We continue to be a strong and vibrant community of practice. Thank you for being good citizens and supporting these measures during this challenging time.

Working together we can ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff and an excellent learning experience

Wishing you all a restful and peace filled Christmas

Best Wishes and Keep Safe
