COVID-19: First Semester Teaching 2020/21

Celtic Civilisation: Covid-19 and teaching for the first semester of the 2020/21 academic year

The Department of Early and Medieval Irish is committed to delivering as much teaching as possible on campus for the first semester of the 2020/21 academic year, subject of course to public health guidelines. Lectures will begin on Monday 28 September.

All lectures will be recorded, and these will be available online for students who have health concerns, are registered with DSS or are unable to attend classrooms.

For First Year students, all classes will be delivered on campus. Depending on final class sizes (which will not be known until registration is complete) and social distancing restrictions, students will be in a position to be physically present at most, though probably not all, of their classes. Students will have access to the online recording for any class they cannot go to. First Year Students will also sign up to tutorials (one hour a week) which will be taught face to face on campus but for which there will also be online options.

Apart from the small number of modules taught completely online (highlighted in yellow in the timetable below), most Celtic Civilisation modules in Second and Third Year, and in Postgraduate programmes have small class sizes, and so we are aiming for 100% classroom delivery. Some of these modules may also be recorded.

Full class timetable information will be available once you register for individual modules in September.
