Eugenia receives the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching 2020/21

2 Dec 2021
Congratulations Eugenia

Message from the Head of School, Dr. Patrick Crowley

Our wonderful colleague Eugenia Bolado has been awarded the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching 2020/21. She is the only recipient from CACSSS and I know that you will join me in warmly congratulating her.

It’s clear to those of us within the School who have worked with Eugenia, as well as to all her students, that she is an inspiring, enthusiastic, intelligent teacher.  She has been an innovator in terms of language teaching methodologies and a passionate advocate of the importance of learning languages. Her sustained, evolving, enquiry into best teaching practice is remarkable, as is her commitment to her students and profession.

In many ways, I think that this award also recognises that the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures has a team of brilliant university language teachers. We’ve seen this across the School in so many ways – approaches to teaching, commitment to the work, tireless support of students and the constant pursuit of what works best when we teach.

Warmest congratulations, Eugenia. I hope you enjoy this moment and the deserved recognition of what you have achieved and what you continue to do.
