'Gimme Two Minutes', Skills Centre educational video series

The UCC Skills Centre presents, Gimme Two Minutes, a video series that focuses on very basic concepts related to the academic writing and preparation skills. These videos can be used as self-learning tools and give you a taste of what sessions and workshops the Skills Centre offers to UCC students. Engaging in Groupwork is the focus this week in the Skills Centre. Group projects or presentations can give you the opportunity to learn together, in a one to one capacity allowing for peer learning and so this workshop will teach you how to get the most out of groupwork. This session will be run multiple times throughout the week so make sure to check out our timetable and book your place now!

This week we are happy to announce the terms’ first session of ‘Planning your Dissertation’! The early stages of planning are essential in the research and writing process for a good foundation. And so, this class will walk you through the necessary steps to take in this important step. The ‘Planning your dissertation’ workshop geared towards Postgraduate students will be taking place in the Skills Centre Tuesday 22nd of October at 1pm!

Another very exciting session that will be taking place is Scientific Writing: Lab Reports! Science has a language of its own, so this session will cover the structure and steps to writing a successful lab report.  To learn more about scientific writing, particularly regarding lab reports, book your space in this class through this link!
