Adult Continuing Education: Skills Centre Saturday Workshops

The Skills Centre is offering specially formulated sessions to ACE students on Saturdays, these sessions will run from 10am - 1pm. They have been divided into two separate categories.
The sessions will include various skills lessons, which have been categorised as follows:
Academic Writing session:
- Academic Listening
- Note taking
- Essay Writing
These skills are vital for your personal and academic writing in university, so we have combined them into one session. Academic Listening and notetaking will help you get the most out of your lectures as it will highlight methods of processing and recording information. The essay writing section will introduce you to the concepts required to engage in academic writing.
Academic Development session:
- Reflective Writing
- Presentation Skills
These skills are vital for your personal & academic development in university & so we have combined them into 1 session.
Presentation skills and reflective writing will help you progress and develop your skills greatly throughout your college expirience.

We will also be offering Write Here, Write Now Academic Writing Saturday Sessions
To celebrate Academic Writing Month, the Skills Centre will be hosting a Write Here, Write Now: Academic Writing Session! These sessions will allow you to work on your assignments in the Skills Centre classroom, while a tutor will be on hand to answer any of your Academic Writing related questions. On Saturday November 9th, 16th and 23rd from 10am to 1pm, make sure to take advantage of this drop-in zone and get those assignments finished and submitted, no need to book in advance!
