Excel Tips & Tricks

• Line breaks
  Start a new line of text within a cell in excel using these instructions. 

• Freeze panes
  Freeze panes to lock rows and columns. To keep an area of a worksheet visible while you scroll to another area of the worksheet, see Excel's freeze panes option. 

• Conditional formatting
  Add visual cues to make your data easier to understand using Excel's conditional formatting.

• Paste Special
  When you use Copy and then Paste in Excel, by default it will paste everything (formatting, formulas etc.). If this is not what you want (e.g. the result of a formula but not the formula), then use Paste Special. 
  
• Excel Trace Cells
  To assist you in checking your formulas, you can use the Trace Precedents and Trace dependents commands to graphically display and trace the relationships between cells and formulas with tracer arrows.

  Tip: remember a cell can have both precedents and dependents. Use the Remove Arrows to clear the arrows afterwards. Read More.
