eduroam Wi-Fi Service Update (UPDATED)
We are making changes to how we are implementing our Wi-Fi service today, which will not affect most users of the service.
The following will happen:
Apple MacBook, MacBook Pro, iPhone or iPad users.
You will be prompted to accept a new "Certificate". Simply choose accept and all will continue to work.
Windows 7/8/8.1 users
All should continue to work but a few Windows 7 users may have configured the certificate validation. Simply follow the link here http://www.ucc.ie/en/sit/wireless/ and follow the instructions on how to configure your laptop.
The linux bash file here http://www.ucc.ie/en/sit/wireless/ under Automatic Configuration for Windows 7 or Linux has been updated.
Android & Kindle users
All should continue to work.
If you are having problems connecting to the Wi-Fi service, please reboot your device. If you are still having problems, simply remove and re-add the wireless settings by visiting here http://www.ucc.ie/en/sit/wireless/ and follow the instructions or visit our Student Helpdesk in the Boole Library and they will be able to help.
Note for Mac users (updated)
There are some Mac laptop users with issues connecting An easy solution is to download to a USB and install the following profile here: http://www.ucc.ie/wireless/eduroam/eduroam_Apple_UCC.mobileconfig Simply enter your email@example.com and Student IT password.
Some Apple users may have an old profile configured.
To remove a configuration profile in iOS:
- On your iOS device, open .
- Scroll to the bottom and open . If you do not see a "Profiles" section, you do not have a configuration profile installed.
- In the "Profiles" section, select the eduroam profile and tap .
To remove a configuration profile in Mac OS X:
- From the Apple menu, select .
- From the

- Select the eduroam profile and then press the (minus) button. Click to remove the profile.
- Restart your computer.
