From photosynthesis to solar energy conversion - a chemical approach

I am from Bogotá, Colombia and I did my undergraduate and Masters degree in Chemistry in the National University of Colombia in Bogotá.

My PhD is in Physical Chemistry and is concerned with studying the fundamental processes that occur during the conversion of solar to chemical energy in a system that imitates the photosynthesis in plants and bacteria. The aim is to acquire knowledge that can be useful for the design of future and more efficient solar energy technologies. My research aims to improve the efficiency of future solar devices by learning from natural systems that have been using the sun as a source of energy for millions of years.
