UCC hosted the Irish industry briefing for the upcoming Food Matters Live conference, which takes annually in London's ExCel arena.

Food Matters Live is the UK's only cross-sector event bringing together the food and drink industry, retailers, foodservice providers, government and those working in nutrition, to enable collaboration and innovation to support a sustainable food landscape for the future.

Building on the presence of UCC at last year's conference, as partners in the Taste Cork stand, the University was selected to host the pre-conference industry session, which engages local business and food industry partners with the themes and discussions taking place in the UK food market. The event was supported by Taste Cork, Cork Chamber of CommerceCITBord Bia and the UCC-Teagasc Strategic Alliance.

As part of the industry event, expert speakers delivered informative talks, which are available for download from here. The session was well recieved, with audience members from a variety of SME backgrounds. Dr Karen McCarthy and Prof Margaret Linehan in particular spoke about the resouces available from third-level providers to support innovation and training for the food market.

The main conference, Food Matters Live, will run from the 21-23 November in the ExCel, London.
