Before you go home for the weekend don’t forget to register for the conference. There’s a great line up including a 1:1 Interview with Dr Graham Love Chief Executive of the HEA followed by Q&A.
Thursday 26th April 2018
Time: 9:00am – 1:00pm
It gives us great pleasure to invite you to attend the annual HR Researcher Conference.
This year our keynote speaker is Dr. Graham Love, Chief Executive of the Higher Education Authority
Today, governments through various instruments invest heavily in research within universities and have created an increasingly complex funding and prioritized environment. Many researchers find that to be successful in this arena they must employ multiple strategies to engage with their stakeholders. As a result, researchers have had to become experts at operating politically within the ever changing world of research.
This conference is aimed at all staff and will showcase the personal experiences of speakers in a wide variety of fields from within UCC and nationally. Speakers will discuss their own encounters with the politics of research exploring the many ways that politics and research collide whether it is internal group politics or politics on a global scale. In this context we intend that speakers address any aspect of the politics of research that they think will be of interest.
The conference will be opened by the Professor Patrick O’Shea, President of UCC and other speakers include Fergus Shanahan, Brian O’Gallachoir, Peter Gallagher - Trinity College Dublin, Rosarii Griffin, Piaris Mac Éinrí, Anita Maguire, Nora Geary, and Barry O’Brien.
ALL STAFF ARE WELCOME
Tea/Coffee and pastries will be provided.
With best wishes,
Director of Human Resources UCC Vice President for Research and Innovation
