UCC’s Professor Michel Schellekens to revisit Stanford University on a Fulbright Scholarship

Professor Michel Schellekens from UCC’s Department of Computer Science completed a sabbatical stay at the Department of Computer Science, Stanford University, hosted by eminent computer scientist and mathematician, Professor Don Knuth.
Michel worked in the Department as a Visiting Associate Professor from May to August 2017 and from April to August 2018.Supported by a Fulbright Award, he will complete another stay at Stanford in 2019 to continue his research on Algorithmic Design Automation. This work has led to a series of research publications and Professor Schellekens is also preparing a book on the topic.
In November, Professor Schellekens also visited the University of Cambridge to initiate a research collaboration with Professor Marcelo Fiore, and he also recently received an invitation to present a talk as semi-plenary speaker at the SUMTOP-2019 conference in Cape Town (July 2019).
