The very successful programme for Researcher Leaders, Professional Skills for Research Leaders (PSRL) will commence in the coming months
This is a development programme in Research Leadership. The PSRL suite is made up of six on-line programmes targeted to assist Research Leaders with the everyday operation of their research group whilst managing its research strategy and positioning
PSRL has a user friendly navigation system that can be accessed through Blackboard and includes blended support sessions at the end of each of the six programmes.
The Programmes are:
- Introduction to Professional Skills for Research Leaders
- Developing and consolidating your research career
- Funding your research
- Managing a research team
- Research collaboration
- Communicating your research
PSRL combines on-line and blended learning techniques. Each programme ends with an on-line exam and a workshop. UCC has earned Institute of Leadership Management(ILM) endorsement for the programme and participants will receive an ILM Certificate of Attainment on completion of the programme.
The programme is intended for those at Senior Post Doc or Research Fellow level. Places are limited to 20 on a first come first served basis.
To cover costs there is a fee, however, OVPRI and HR are pleased to contribute 50% making cost per participant €500.00

Quote from a 2015 participant:
"I felt this was an excellent course that was very well delivered. This course came at the right stage in my career. I loved the interaction amongst our class and the course tutors, who were very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this course to future Senior Post Docs and Research Fellows."
