Outcome

Identify any necessary revisions to admissions policies and entry requirements and bring to Academic Board for approval.

Current Status

Entry requirements and Admissions policy reviews are currently taking place. The first set of recommendations were brought to Academic Board on 23rd October 2019 and were approved.

Timelines & Targets

  • Thorough review of programme entry requirements for EU Undergraduate applicants for CAO portfolio. To improve communication and clarity of how entry requirements are expressed across all platforms, to include digital and hardcopy marketing materials: Completed Q2 2019
  • Using methodology from EU-UG entry requirements review, extend review to International entry requirements for all UG programmes: Completed Q3 2019
  • Review appropriateness of entry requirements and make recommendations to revise where appropriate: Underway
  • Agree any proposed changes to UG entry requirements with the Colleges as relevant and bring agreed changes to AB for approval: First set of recommendations approved at AB 23rd October 2019.
  • Thorough review of programme entry requirements for EU and International to the PG taught portfolio to be initiated: Q4 2019
  • Thorough review of programme entry requirements for EU and International to the PG research portfolio: Q1 2020
  • Agree any proposed changes to PG entry requirements with the Colleges as relevant and bring agreed changes to AB for approval: Q1 and Q2 2020
  • Identify and collate database of all existing Admissions Policies: Completed
  • Each Admissions function to thoroughly review policies and identify proposed revisions or amendments: Underway.
  • Work with the Colleges and other relevant stakeholders to identify admissions policy gaps or proposed amendments: Focus groups being convened in Q4 2019.
  • Agree any proposed changes to Admissions Policies with the Colleges and other relevant stakeholders and bring agreed changes to AB for approval: Q2 2020
