UCC rises to 250 - 300 band in QS Graduate Employability Rankings

18 Sep 2019

Today, the 2020 QS Graduate Employability Rankings were released and QS Quacquarelli Symonds have named the world's top 500 universities for nurturing graduate employability. UCC has climbed since last year from being in the 301-500 band to the 250-300 band.

The 2020 QS Graduate Employability Rankings seek to compare the employability outcomes of higher education institutions across 758 institutions globally. They measure the proportion of graduates in full or part-time employment within 12 months of graduation and use a five-metric method that captures each institution's regard among 44,000 employers worldwide, alma mater data from 29,000 highly successful individuals, institutional industry partnerships, employer presence on campus, and location-adjusted graduate employment rate. These rankings meet growing student demand for information about the potential employment benefits their education might offer as they explore the university-employability relationship.

UCC's graduate employability rate is 93.6%, in line with a national average of 93.8%. Employer connection rate (all distinct companies present at events on campus orthat used university-related websites to promotethemselves in a recent 12 month period) at UCC was 14.8 per 1000 students, compared with a national average of 11.4.
