UCC Leading the Way on Good Governance
UCC is the lead on the capacity building work package of the Erasmus funded UniGov project (Improving Governance Practices and Palestinian Higher Education Institutions) including all training activities such as designing the training modules and supervise the online, face-to-face training as well as the study visits activities.
A delegation of seven academic/administrators representing 4 Palestinian Universities, An-Najah National University, Birzeit University, Arab American University in Jenin and Palestine Polytechnic University participated in a study visit to UCC from 10 - 14 June 2019 as part of the UniGov project.
A broad range of governance topics were covered during the study visit including Research, Professional Development, Learning and Teaching, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, Graduate Education, IT services, Project Governance and Data Security. The delegates visited some of UCC’s next generation learning spaces and briefly visited CIT one of our partner institutes. Those who presented were very generous with their time and expertise. The openness and transparency of the governance of UCC was remarked upon and the delegates have left UCC enthused with ideas that they hope to implement in their own higher education institutes. Some interesting connections were also made and it is hoped that the visit will bear fruit in possible collaborations on research and in other areas.
