Launch of Academic Policy Portal
An online Academic Policy Portal has been launched to provide a single location for accessing the full range of academic policies at UCC.
Priority 6 of the Academic Strategy centres on the reform of academic governance and Action 35 aims to provide a single location for accessing the full range of academic policies at UCC through the development of an online portal.
Led by Mr. Paul O'Donovan, Academic Secretary and Assistant Registrar, and Dr Orla Lynch, Head of Criminology, a project was undertaken to identfy and collate all academic policies at UCC to enable the maintenance of up-to-date policy documents and registers.
This portal was launched at the Academic Council meeting on May 3rd, where Ms Sarah Field, Policy Officer, gave a presentation outlining the background to the project and the challenges faced and concluded with the official launch of the Academic Policy Portal. Ms Field outlined further developments that will follow in Phases 2 and 3 of the project, which will include identification of policy owners, revision of existing policy documents, designing ‘pocket policies’ and producing a policy journey roadmap for students.
