President's News
Your UCC Graduate Attributes and Values Compass launched
The Your UCC Graduate Attributes and Values Compass sellf-evaluation tool for students will be available from September 2022
In partnership with multiple academic and professional services units across the university, this self-assessment tool will support and facilitate students in the development of core UCC attributes and values.
Students will be encouraged to complete their Graduate Attributes Programme Compass once per year and invited to reflect on how they are developing their attributes and values. A range of learning experiences will be available to students to enhance the development of their value and attributes. The learning experiences available on the platform have been curated by over 20 professional services and academic staff, to faciliate students through curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular learning to develop their graduate attributes and values, in a manner reflective of their personal goals and programme of study. The development of this self-assessment tool was a key action and priority of UCC's Academic Strategy 2018-2022, and we are delighted that students will get the opportunity to discover Your Compass from this semester.
We want all UCC graduates to be well-rounded, curious, self-aware individuals who continually learn new skills, are open to new ideas, and make things happen. The new Your UCC Graduate Attributes and Values Compass self-assessment tool supports students to consider their holistic development, through the formal curriculum and through the many other ways that they can grow and develop during their time at UCC. Developing a strong set of graduate attributes and values will help students to flourish and to be more successful in their studies and careers and in theircontribution to the community and society.
