UCC named Sustainability Institution of the Year at Green Gown Awards
University College Cork has been recognised as the top university for sustainability at a prestigious awards ceremony celebrating sustainability in higher education.
UCC was awarded the top prize of Sustainability Institution of the Year at this year’s Green Gown Awards UK & Ireland which took place at Loughborough University on 8 November 2022. The Green Gown Awards recognise the exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by universities and colleges across the world. This success recognises UCC’s Green Campus Programme and the University’s commitment to embedding sustainability in research, teaching and operations and influencing positive sustainability and climate action behaviours across our community of stakeholders.
This award is a fitting recognition of the genuine commitment to sustainability at University College Cork. UCC prides itself on being Ireland’s Green University and sharing our learnings across the sector and beyond. We are committed to securing a better future for us and for our planet.
