President's News
Author Colum McCann reads at UCC

UCC was delighted to welcome Colum McCann to read at the first event of the 2020 School of English's reading series in late January.
Prior to the reading, Professor O'Shea welcomed Mr McCann to the President's Office to sign the Visitor's Book, accompanied by Professor Lee Jenkins, Head of School of English and Mary Morrissy, Lecturer in Creative Writing.
Later that evening, the distinguished writer read from his latest book "Apeirogon" which is to be published in February.
McCann is the author of seven novels, including "Transatlantic" and "Let the Great World Spin", and three collections of stories. His international honours include a National Book Award, the International Dublin Literary Award (formerly IMPAC) and a Chevalier des Arts et Lettres from the French government. He is a member of Aosdana and the American Academy of Arts.
