Second Year Politics 2017/2018 Timetable

There will be an information session on Second Year options on Wednesday 13th September 2017 at 12 noon in ORB 255 Seminar Room

         Politics is taken as a Single, Major, Joint or Minor Honours subject. Students take credits as follows. All modules are 5 credits.

Students taking 30 credits or more MUST take

  • PO2001 Political Analysis (5 credits)

plus 5 credits from the following:

  • ES2027 Comparative European Politics 1 (Semester 1)
  • ES2029 EU: Political & Institutional Development (Semester 1)
  • HI3024 Northern Ireland (Semester 1)
  • ES2033 Model European Union (Semester 2 )
  • ES2022 The European Union and the the International System (Semester 2)
  • ES2032 Mediterranean Politics (Semester 2)
  • HI2048 1989 Revolutions: Poland & East Central Eurpoe-transition to democracy (Semester 2)

plus 5 credits from the following:

  • GV3215 Politics of the United States of America (Semester 1)
  • GV3210 Conflict and Conflict Resolution (Semester 1)
  • GV3212 Political Economy- Trade (Semester 1)
  • GV4102 Gender Perspectives on Politics (Semester 2)
  • GV2241 Elections and Voting (Semester 2)
  • GV2229 Citizen Participation (Semester 2)
  • GV2239 Chinese Politics (Semester 2)

plus 5 credits from the following:

  • PH2028 Applied Ethics (Semester 1)
  • PH2018 Violence and War- A Philosophical Analysis (Semester 1)
  • PH2004 An Introduction to Political Philosophy (Semester 1)
  • PH2014 Ancient Philosophy (Semester 1)
  • PH2030 History of Philosophy 1 (Semester 1)
  • PH2012 Knowledge and Reality (Semester 1)
  • PH2017 Feminist Philosophy (Semester 2)
  • PH2023 Chinese Philosophy (Semester 2)
  • PH2034 Capitalism and Welfare (Semester 2)
