UCC Physics Research Featured in New Scientist
Research led by Dr Anthony Kiely of UCC Physics has been highlighted in New Scientist magazine, bringing international attention to new theoretical work on one of physics’ most fundamental questions: why we tend to agree on the nature of reality.
Dr Kiely’s recently published paper explores a novel framework for understanding how shared objective reality can emerge from the underlying rules of quantum mechanics. Rather than taking agreement about reality for granted, the work investigates the physical mechanisms that allow different observers to reach the same conclusions about the world around them.
The full research paper appears in Physical Review A, with the New Scientist article offering an accessible overview of its key insights.
