School of Physics Graduate Featured on European Space Agency Website

6 Mar 2026

The School of Physics is delighted to share that Ella Flynn, a graduate of our Astrophysics programme (Class of 2024), has authored an article now featured on the European Space Agency (ESA) website.

Ella’s article, “Self-repairing spacecraft could change future missions,” explores how emerging technologies such as self-healing materials could enable spacecraft to autonomously repair damage while in space. These developments could play an important role in improving the reliability and longevity of future missions, particularly those travelling far from Earth.

It is wonderful to see one of our recent graduates contributing to science communication on such a prominent international platform.
