Dr. Xavier Porte Parera Visits UCC Physics for Seminar and Research Discussions
UCC Physics was delighted to welcome Dr. Xavier Porte Parera for a research visit on 10 November. Dr. Porte Parera delivered an engaging seminar titled “Photonic Extreme Learning Machines based on Chip-Scale Chaotic Microresonators”, offering fresh insights into neuromorphic photonics and next-generation photonic information processing.
During his visit, Dr. Porte Parera met with Dr. Bryan Kelleher, Prof. Frank Peters, and members of the members of the Nonlinear Photonics and Dynamics group and of the Integrated Photonics Group. He toured Dr. Kelleher’s and Prof. Peters’ laboratories, where discussions centred on experimental advances in neuromorphic lasers—a shared research interest between Dr. Porte Parera and the UCC teams.
The School looks forward to continued future engagements with Dr. Porte Parera.
