175 years Physics
A Celebration of 175 years of Physics
Calling Physics staff, students, alumni, and friends of UCC Physics to a Celebration of 175 years of Physics at University College Cork on Friday, 29 November 2024 from 1pm.
Festivities will start with a Tree Planting ceremony which will take place on campus at 1pm.
Formalities will commence in the Dr Dora Allman Room, The Hub at 2pm, where guests will be treated to historical talks, reflecting a time-line from the era of Natural Philosophy to today, and the student experience during this journey. There will be an Archival Display for guests to peruse and talks by distinguished alumni. The session will end with a discussion on the Future of Physics.
For those unable to join us on campus, we hope to stream the talks, and an option to receive a link to this is available on the RSVP form.
