Therapeutic Agents
Immunotherapeutics
Agents that promote innate inflammatory responses are central to the development of adjuvants and immunotherapeutics for infectious diseases and cancer, while agents that limit inflammation are critical in the treatment of autoimmune diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes. The importance of neuroinflammatory changes in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disease is currently the subject of intense research. The research and training elements of this PhD Programme focus on the fact that the study of inflammation across distinct, but related disciplines, will promote interdisciplinary research.
