Bruno Godinho: PhD in Pharmaceutics 2013‌

The pursuit of a Pharmacy Doctorate Degree and the prospect of enhancing my Curriculum Vitae with more international experience were the original reasons that brought me, a Portuguese pharmacy graduate, to the School of Pharmacy, University College Cork (UCC).

Studying for my PhD degree at the School of Pharmacy - University College Cork (UCC) gave me the fantastic opportunity to interact with internationally known and top-ranked researchers in a wide variety of disciplines. Indeed, I feel that the expertise of such investigators allowed me to develop core scientific skills which are key when one wants to grow as independent and successful researcher. Similarly, the diverse backgrounds of postgraduate students and research staff at UCC’s School of Pharmacy provided me the chance to learn how one scientific issue could be approached in different ways, thus further adding to my knowledge as a researcher. Additionally, the excellent facilities, the well equipped labs and all technical support granted the optimal conditions to perform my research. Finally, the friendly atmosphere and support given throughout the 4 years of my time in Cork helped to ease out the challenges of moving and living abroad.

Thus, overall I have extremely enjoyed my stay at UCC’s School of Pharmacy and believe that the values that were transmitted will lead me to great success in the near future.
