11 Aug 2016

The NFQ level 9 Postgraduate Certificate in (Bio)Pharma Processing is an innovative programme offered to pharmacy, science and engineering graduates who wish to take up employment in the Irish (Bio)Pharma sector. The programme commencing in September 2016 will be taught over two semesters (September to December and January to April). The programme is part-time and will be taught via a combination of classroom and laboratory classes delivered Fridays (9.30am to 4.30pm) in the School of Pharmacy, UCC and the provision of course materials that students can study under their own schedule at home.

This programme provides an excellent opportunity to obtain an overview of the theory and practical elements of the pharmaceutical and biopharma production of medicines. In addition to technical readiness for employment, the certificate is designed to support participants with job readiness. The module â€˜Transitioning into the Workplace’ (5 ECTS) is designed to assist students in actively planning and preparing for their future careers and support students in their application for placements and positions within the (Bio)Pharma sector.

Participants of the previous delivery of this programme 2015/2016 are now employed in technical roles in GSK, Merck Millipore, Boston Scientific and Biomarin.
