This two year programme is recognised by various EU Regulatory Authorities as fulfilling the educational requirements for Qualified Person (QP) status as defined in EU legislation.

One of the MSc graduates, Lara Chircop completed this distance learning programme whist working full-time in a Pharmaceutical company in Malta. Through the use of blended learning and e learning technology travel to UCC is kept to a minimum. Lara travelled to UCC four times over the two year programme to attend the QP workshops. A Memorandum of Agreement is in place between the School of Pharmacy in UCC and the Examinations Department in Malta, thereby allowing our Maltese students to sit their end of year exams in an examination centre in Malta. As part of this programme, students are required to sit a QP viva exam in second year. Lara completed this part of the exam in Malta via webinar.

There are currently two students from Malta enrolled in the MSc programme.
