Professor David Kerins was appointed Chairperson of the Advisory Committee for Human Medicines of the Health Products Regulatory Authority

Professor Thomas Walther and the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics would like to congratulate Professor David Kerins for being appointed Chairperson of the Advisory Committee for Human Medicines of the Health Products Regulatory Authority.  The appointment was made by the Minister for Health, Simon Harris on 25 June 2019

Professor David Kerins was appointed Chairperson of the Advisory Committee for Human Medicines of the Health Products Regulatory Authority.  The appointment was made by the Minister for Health, Simon Harris on 25 June 2019.

The Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) is the independent regulator of health products in Ireland.  Their role is to protect and enhance public and animal health.  They do this by assessing the safety, quality and effectiveness of healthcare products on behalf of the public to ensure the benefits they provide outweigh any potential risks.
