Biography

Background

Brian hails from Ballina Co.Mayo and attended St.Muredach's College Ballina from 1997-2002. He then studied in NUI Galway from 2002-2006 graduating with an B.Sc(hons) degree in Chemistry from NUI Galway.

Research

He joined the Organic and Pharmaceutical Synthesis Research Team in Oct 2006 working on a project entitled "Transition metal catalysed decomposition of a-diazoketones and it's application to the synthesis of novel heterocyclic systems".

Current position

He is working towards a PhD on the above topic and is trying to avoid picking up a cork accent!
