The 22nd Annual School of Nursing and Midwifery Research Conference was a great success highlighting the importance of sustainable approaches to health and healthcare. Diverse presentations and posters provided a great insight into the challenges and opportunities that exist pertaining to sustainability in the context of healthcare. Rachel Kenna, Chief Nurse, Department of Health provided an eloquent oversight of policy directions and future insights into developments in Nursing and Midwifery. Tibo Uyttersprot. Climate Officer at Health Care Without Harm, Europe; Dr Gerardina Harnett, Munster Technological University, Kerry Campus: and Dr Ruth Lernehan, South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital, Cork provided evidence based insights and opened important conversations on SDGS, sustainability and the potential role of nurses and midwives in meeting future challenges in this area. Students, staff, clinical partners presented on diverse topic areas.
