School Research Away Day 2018

Yesterday we had a very successful research away day in the Kingsley Hotel where we had a great opportunity for networking and numerous enlightening presentations. 

The day provided research students, research supervisors, researchers, academic staff with the opportunity to discuss their research ideas, explore research methodologies and challenge each other’s research perspectives  in a very fun and open environment.

Presentations included: Research in the context of Nursing & Midwifery: vision for the future (Prof J Hegarty);  The process of undertaking a metasynthesis (Clodagh Byron); Addiction nurses network (IntNSA) and how it relates to my PhD (Peter Kelly); Horizon 2020 and COST Action (Zoppi, Imma); Risk of bias assessment in systematic reviews (Lloyd Philpott);  Humanisation in Childbirth: Concept Analysis (Mary Curtin); Challenges in completion of my Doctoral thesis (Joan Murphy); The Doctoral research journey: trials and tribulations (Dr M Murphy); Developing a Research Portfolio after the PhD: Challenges and Successes (Dr N Cornally); Collecting data from multiple sites - considerations, issues (Dr Noleen Brady); PhD processes and challenges of getting published (Dr M Saab); Supervisor and Internal Examiner regulation processes  (Dr P Leahy-Warren); Networking session for students (Selena O’Connell).
