Early in the New Year, UCC Health Matters co-ordinated the first ever UCC Operation Transformation event when, at the time of year, so many people take stock and consider changing their lifestyle and habits for the better. Four students and four staff leaders embarked on a 7 week journey of healthier eating and individualised exercise programmes.
Most important of all however was that Operation Transformation extended to involve the wider UCC community and as part of this the Brookfield Health Sciences Complex hosted an Outdoor Exercise Workout for the staff and students of Brookfield. The event was led by Mardyke Arena Instructors Alanna McKenna and Claire Murphy. The Operation Transformation Leaders and their supporters participated, as well as plenty of staff and students of Brookfield. It was a very successful group work out session and while the wind and the rain was 'refreshing' to say the least, it left all the participants energised.. Further events are planned for Brookfield.
