Applications are invited from individuals who are currently registered for or who will register on 1st
October 2013 to pursue a PhD within the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University College Cork.
Applications investigating topics relating to the research activities within the School are particularly welcome –see website
The postgraduate studentship is funded on a full time basis and covers applicable university fees in addition to a tax free stipend of €16,000 per annum.

A teaching / tutorial/ demonstration workload will be assigned to the successful candidate(s).
Renewal for 2nd and 3rd years will be dependent on successful progress as determined by annual review by the departmental postgraduate progress review panels.
Applications will be reviewed by a panel of assessors which will include an external assessor and shortlisted
candidates may be called for interview by the panel.
Applications will be ranked according to the following criteria:
• Quality of Research Proposal/Plan
• Relevance to School’s Research Agenda and supervisory support for the applicant
• Review of educational preparation and references
