Special evening event arranged for the Schools International students and their families
The School of Nursing & Midwifery hosted a Welcome Evening in December for its International Students and their families.
In welcoming the students the Head of the School, Professor Eileen Savage acknowledged the challenges that the international students face when moving away from home to study in a foreign country. She also highlighted to the students the benefits of studying at University College Cork's School of Nursing & Midwifery, emphasising the School's supportive student centred approach in the provision of excellence in education, research and practice.
The Welcome Evening was attended by international students from eight countries (India, Malaysia, China, Saudia Arabia, Lebanon, Milawi, Kuwait, USA) all of whom are studying for a Masters degree or BSc (top degree) in Nursing.
In addition, visiting students from the USA and European students from the Erasmus programme attended this social event. The School now has seven European partner countries participating in the Erasmus Programme (UK, Norway, Finland, Italy, Framce, Spain and Greece)
