School of Nursing and Midwifery Research Bi-annual Away Day
Students and supervisors pictured at the research away day 23rd June 2016.
On the 23rd June 2016 Doctoral and MSc students and supervisors gathered for the School of Nursing and Midwifery biannual research day. Oral presentations included: Qualitative analysis- general overview with a particular focus on conceptualisation; Qualitative content analysis- an oldie but a goodie “Different roads can lead to the same castle: Data Collection with a Diverse Sample”; The challenge of applying the principles of IPA as a novice to the methodology; Meta- synthesis- the process and outputs; Doing a Cochrane systematic review- lessons learnt; Intervention design- from theory to practice, and finishing the doctorate and doing the VIVA- perspectives based on recent experiences. The away-day presented students and supervisors with the opportunity to net-work and to share their research ideas and seek feedback. Professor Lazelle Benefield video-linked in from the University of Oklahoma, USA and spoke to “Moving on from the doctorate where to next?”
