Nursing student sprints her way to more success
Phil Healy a second year Integrated Children’s and General Nursing student won the 200m sprint event & the Open 60m title at the National Indoor U23 & Junior athletics championships in Athlone recently.
In June 2014 Phil ran a very solid final leg for the Irish women’s 4X100m relay team at the European Team competition in Estonia. Subsequently Phil has had a very busy few weeks in July. After winning both the 100m and 200m National Under 23 titles at Cork IT track she ran a lifetime best of 11:36 to finish 2nd after a photo finish in the 100m at the Cork City Sports and after another photo finish at the National Senior Championships in Dublin Phil and Amy Foster could not be separated for the gold medal.
