The final year students from the Integrated Children’s and General nursing programme at the School of Nursing and Midwifery attended a very special blessing of the hands ceremony in the Honan Chapel recently. The event was facilitated by the newly ordained Rev Marius O Reilly. Readings, reflections, song and prayer added to occasion. The head of school and midwifery and staff of the school of nursing attended as well as senior nursing management staff from Cork University Hospital. The ceremony focused on the caring dimension of nursing with each nurse receiving a special blessing of the hands. It was truly an uplifting occasion.
