Launch of "OPPO"

The mental health app “OPPO” was launched  in the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

The mental health app “OPPO” was launched on February 8th by Minister Jim Daly in the School of Nursing and Midwifery. OPPO was developed by Mr. Johnny Goodwin, UCC, in collaboration with Mr. John Cummins, HSE, and is designed based on the recommendations of mental health service users. Minister Daly congratulated the developers on the launch of OPPO: “As the Minister with responsibility for mental health, I am particularly interested to hear how digital technologies can provide useful support to people with mental health needs”.

Also in attendance at this event were Professor Helen Whelton, Head of the College of Medicine and Health, Professor Josephine Hegarty, Head of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, and Ms Sinead Glennon, Head of Mental Health Services, Cork/Kerry.
