Impact of Covid-19 restrictions on family/friends of people currently living in Residential Care Facilities

12 Jun 2020

Staff of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, UCC, launch National Survey

Epidemic public health measures have meant that older persons and people with severe or profound intellectual disabilities are cocooned in residential care facilities and their families/friends are restricted from visiting and providing care and companionship. The psychosocial and emotional impact of these restrictive measures are unknown. The ERiC project (Engaging Remotely in Care) will provide a national picture of the impact on families/friends and help determine what strategies are effective in supporting them to remain connected.

Do you have a relative or friend currently living in a Residential Care Facility? If so, we would be grateful if you would consider completing our survey, which can be accessed via the link HERE
