First in-person meeting of Implementation Network Europe for Cancer Survivorship Care INE-CSC COST Action (CA21152)
Held on a sunny main campus of University College Cork - June 1st & 2nd 2023
The main aim of the COST Action CA21152 Implementation Network Europe for Cancer Survivorship Care (INE-CSC) is to systematically support the sustained translation of evidence-based interventions into routine clinical practice as part of a cross boundary, systems level cancer survivorship pathway and ultimately enhance the health and wellbeing of cancer survivors across Europe.
Through this COST Action a sustainable network of researchers, clinicians, patients, policy makers and wider stakeholders will integrate the emerging knowledge on cancer survivorship, digital health solutions and implementation science, to support a sustainable model of care for cancer patients which aims to enhance quality of life and improve symptom experience.
This COST Action has 147 members across 32 Countries. The two day hybrid meeting provided a great opportunity to discuss and finalise a collaborative workplan. A workshop was also held on the 1st June at which 14 presenters showcased their cancer survivorship research.
European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Actions brings interdisciplinary researchers and innovators together to investigate a topic of their choice for 4 years.
Professor Josephine Hegarty (Action Chair) noted that -
The two day hybrid event helped to connect researchers and clinicians across Europe to look at how we can better use our collective knowledge of implementation science and digital solutions to help address inequalities in access to supportive care for individuals living with through and beyond cancer.
