HeadStart for Nursing and Midwifery
The Catherine McAuley School of Nursing and Midwifery opens its doors to 40 Transition Year and 5th Year Secondary School Students interested in Nursing and Midwifery.
HeadStart for Nursing and Midiwfery is a new Programme organised by the School of Nursing and Midwifery. Today saw forty transition year / 5th year school pupils from a number of schools in the region visit the School of Nursing and Midiwfery. Staff and students of the School of Nursing and Midwifery were on hand to rotate school pupils through a number of teaching stations including clinical skills, giving huge insight into the 5 BSc Programmes on offer in UCC, namely BSc (Hons) Nursing (General); BSc(Hons) Nursing (Childrens/ Integrated); BSc (Hons) Nursing (Intellectual Disability); BSc (Hons) Nursing (Midwifery); BSc (Hons) Nursing (Mental Health).

On Wednesday 27th April 2016 at 09.00hrs, the doors of the School of Nursing and Midwifery opened for the Pilot of the Headstart Programme for Nursing and Midwifery.
Thirty Fifth / Transition Year students from schools in and around Cork attended the programme and enjoyed a full day of activities displaying the various practical aspects of studying for a career in Nursing and Midwifery.
