UCC ranked as global leader working towards a sustainable future
University College Cork (UCC) has been ranked as one of the leading universities in the world for making an impact on creating a sustainable future.
UCC was ranked 62nd in the world in a global ranking of 1,406 universities measured as part of the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, published tonight.
The rankings assess universities against progress towards the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As well as UCC's overall rank, UCC performed strongly across the individual SDG's with UCC ranking in the top 50 globally across 5 of the 17 SDG's.
"We are proud to again be recognised as a leading university in the world that is making an impact towards creating a sustainable future for our planet" stated Professor John O’Halloran, President of UCC.
“Our teaching, research, and public engagement has again been assessed as world class and we will continue to ensure our focus is on imporving society and the world around us.”
